Newport Retreat

This comprehensive renovation and reconstruction of a Craftsman‑style residence reimagined the home's original character while working within the constraints of the existing footprint and structure. The design transformed an unconventional layout into a cohesive and contemporary coastal home, maximizing both interior living space and the property's unique vantage point overlooking Easton Bay.

A key objective of the project was to improve the home's relationship to its waterfront setting. Through strategic reconfiguration of the floor plan and thoughtful architectural interventions, the renovated residence captures expanded views of Easton Bay and neighboring Newport while creating a more open, functional living environment. Interior spaces were reorganized to improve flow, increase natural light, and better connect the home to the surrounding landscape.

The primary suite was enhanced with a new private deck accessed through expansive double sliding doors, establishing a direct connection to the outdoors and creating a secluded retreat with panoramic water views. Exterior modifications and carefully integrated additions modernized the home's appearance while maintaining elements of its Craftsman heritage.
